Ashland City is situated along the Cumberland River, and Sydney’s Bluff is visible from most portions of the community. Today, much of Ashland City’s economy is driven by manufacturing operations at A.O. Smith, which fabricates water heaters. The city limits were also expanded recently and now incorporate the Cheatham County Industrial Park, which houses paper products, barge building operations, and concrete manufacturers.
