About Us: Why Purple and Pink?
In September 2016, founder and owner of Tidwell & Sons HVAC, Dana Tidwell, experienced a heartbreaking event when his 4-year-old granddaughter, Harper Madison Tidwell, began experiencing intense pain in her head and feet during the night. Despite multiple visits to the doctor’s office and a week at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, medical professionals were unable to identify the cause of her suffering and initially attributed it to severe growing pains.
Tragically, Harper’s condition continued to deteriorate until doctors discovered that she had an extremely rare form of cancer known as ATRT. The tumor caused by the cancer was pressing on her spine, obstructing blood flow to her head and feet.
Unfortunately, there was no available treatment for this rare condition, and Harper passed away on October 8th, 2016. This devastating loss deeply impacted the Tidwell & Sons HVAC family.
The Tidwell family was devastated by the loss of Harper, unsure of how to move forward in the face of such profound grief. Dana, witnessing the pain endured by his son, daughter-in-law, and himself and his wife, felt a strong desire to honor Harper’s memory in a meaningful way.
Remembering that her favorite colors were purple and pink, Dana made the heartfelt decision to transform the entire aesthetic of his business. From the logo and truck lettering to the uniforms, everything was now represented in shades of purple, complemented by accents of pink and white.
Each day, as Dana puts on his purple work shirt and steps into his vehicle with its striking purple and pink lettering, a smile graces his face, reminding him of his precious granddaughter, Harper. This small tribute serves as a constant connection to her spirit and brings a sense of comfort to him and his family.
